Filter Guard

CLARITY & CONTROL

Service Terms

What protection includes, how subscriptions work, and what to expect from the service.

The service

Filter Guard offers curated domain filtering on personal iPhones and iPads running iOS 26 or later. Safari and apps using Apple's participating URL-loading APIs are covered; apps using other networking methods must opt in. Coverage depends on the app, Apple's system, the selected block policy, and service availability. It cannot remove every ad or tracker and is not a guarantee of safety, anonymity, malware prevention, or uninterrupted protection.

Some sites or videos may not work with filtering enabled. You can turn protection off and reload them, then turn it on again afterward. This affects all participating apps. During a filtering-service outage, requests may be allowed so browsing can continue. "Running" describes the operating system's reported filter state, not a guarantee that every request was checked or blocked.

The initial consumer version provides one curated policy. It does not promise per-app traffic history, custom blocklists, individual website exceptions, automatic app detection, timed pause, or guaranteed blocking in every app.

Subscriptions and trials

Apple handles purchases. The purchase screen displays the current local price and billing period before you confirm. The planned U.S. price is $9.99 per year; the price shown by Apple for your region applies. Eligible subscribers may receive a seven-day introductory free trial. After the trial, the subscription renews at the displayed price unless canceled under Apple's terms. Trial eligibility is determined by Apple.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled through your Apple Account. Open Filter Guard → Subscription → Manage Subscription, or use Apple's subscription settings. Turning filtering off or deleting the app does not cancel billing. Restore Purchases can reconnect an eligible subscription without buying it again. If setup fails after purchase, retry setup or contact support.

Refund requests and purchase disputes are handled through Apple's applicable processes, without limiting any rights that apply under local law. Prices, availability and offers may differ by region; the Apple confirmation screen governs the purchase you authorize.

Responsible use and service changes

Use the service on devices you are authorized to control. Do not share service credentials, circumvent access controls, or abuse service endpoints. We may deny unauthorized access or revoke compromised installation credentials. Subscription access depends on Apple's verified entitlement status.

We may update the app, its curated policy and infrastructure to maintain the service. Material changes affecting paid access will be communicated through the app or our published service information as appropriate. Contact hello@filterguard.app if the service is not working as expected.

Privacy and third-party notices

Our Privacy Policy explains purchase, installation, filtering and support data. Blocklist attribution and a license link are available in the app at More → Blocklist and Licenses. You can also download the policy source archive, license, and attribution notice. Those licenses apply to their respective materials.

Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies to the app where an alternative app license is not provided in its App Store listing. These service terms explain Filter Guard’s operation and do not replace Apple’s purchase terms or limit rights that apply under local law.
